Art
Art development is important for children because it teaches them to be independent and think for themselves. It also teaches the gross motor and fine motor skills. Young children are natural artist and art projects can spark young imaginations and help children to express themselves.
Music
From your child’s favorite nursery rhyme to the theme song for PJ Mask, music captivates and entrances children of all ages and places. New styles of music, new instruments, and different rhythms and tempos offer a lot of sensory input and a heap learning benefits. One of our favorite activities is painting to music. With music playing in the background, kids focus on painting along with songs rhythm while creating a work of art that shows how the music makes them feel.
Movement
Physical development refers to a child’s gross and fine motor skills. To increase strength, muscle control, and coordination, the child requires adequate nutrition and fitness levels. Our curriculum actively engages a child’s mind and body through multidisciplinary activities that invite children to touch, climb, crawl, and manipulate objects in their surrounding environment.
Language
Language-Language and literacy skills refer to a child’s ability to communicate and connect with others through listening, speaking, reading and writing. Our curriculum invites children to ask questions and explore ideas through discussion and dramatic play. Moreover, we encourage children to construct autobiographical narratives in the form of storytelling, journaling, and drawing. Language skills are some of the best predictors of academic success (Snowling, Hulme, Bailey, Strothard
& Lindsay, 2011)
Mathematics
Mathematics and reasoning skills include a child’s ability to count, understand number sense, manipulate objects, create patterns, sort, compare and measure. Through our curriculum, children develop the ability to reason mathematically and become increasingly sophisticated in the ability to recognize and analyze the mathematics inherent in the world around them (Baroody, Bajaw & Eiland, 2009)
Outdoor Activity
Children who play outdoors improve their motors kills, body mass index, overall health and muscle strength. Children that are active in their early years generally continue to be more active as they age. The children will have the opportunity to spend 20-30 minutes outside at least twice a day. Weather permitting. In addition to unstructured playtime, pre-kindergartners will do things like draw maps together stretch or play games.
Meals and snacks
Heathy eating can prevent many chronic diseases. These include obesity, heart disease high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes. Healthy eating habits are more likely to stay with you if you learn them as a child. That’s why we have partnered up with Beanstalk Food Program to ensure your child will always have healthy food options. Every day the children sit down to a meal, where they eat healthy fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains-never juice or fried foods.
